NYSACC Conference on the Environment
Ulster County, Fall 2025
Innovations: Solutions for a Changing Environment
Save the Date for NYSACC’s 2025 Conference on the Environment set for October 24 – 25, 2025 at Soyuzivka Heritage Center in Kerhonkson, NY. Ulster County NYSACC members are in high gear creating a memorable program of plenaries, workshops and field trips to inform and inspire your work.
The program highlights innovations in resource management, policy, finance and community engagement that Conservation Councils and Climate Task Forces can use to serve their communities in a changing climate.
Increasingly, local Conservation Councils and Climate Task Forces are called on to be part of decisions on new technologies and policies, as well as dealing with rapid change in both natural environment and community dynamics. Whether the issue is materials and waste management, energy transition, food systems or open space, innovation is everywhere. We need to understand emerging trends, and expand our skills in due diligence and decision making to remain effective! We also need to identify trusted sources of guidance (including our colleagues in the NYSACC network). This year’s conference will explore key trends, specific innovations, guiding principles and policies, and strategies for staying on top of the issues back in our communities. And we will have plenty of time outdoors in beautiful Ulster County.
Check back in early May for the complete program!

Our 2024 host was the Tug Hill Commission, a highly effective, non-regulatory state agency charged with “helping local governments and citizens shape the future of the Tug Hill region.” The Tug Hill region includes portions of Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida and Oswego counties just west of the Adirondacks, and hosted NYSACC's 2024 COE.
